The FiberForm process developed by KraussMaffei combines the thermoforming of organo sheets and injection molding into one process. This process results in fiber-reinforced plastic components that are particularly lightweight yet feature a high level of strength. They are used primarily in vehicle manufacturing.
Your benefits
Suitable for large series: cycle times correspond to typical injection molding processes
Attaining a high strength level by using continuous-fiber reinforcement within the composite sheets
大幅减轻重量
High degree of weight reduction
Substituting steel and aluminum with fiber-composite construction
Highlights
Fully automated overall concept as compact production cell
Short composite sheet transfer times achieved by positioning the infrared heating station near the mold
Integrated infrared heating technology with highly dynamic control algorithm developed in-house
Pickup – heat up – transfer: Reproducible transfer of the composite sheets into the injection mold through one-time gripping
One-step process thanks to an integrated reshaping process in the mold
Combination with injection molding compounder (IMC) possible for individualized direct compounding
Integration of additional functional parts during the injection molding process
